Why You Should Get Your Own Apartment

As a thirty something year old lady, with six siblings (two from another woman),is very natural to want to have my own apartment. Though the other two (siblings) were not living with us during my university days, I always wanted my privacy. Growing up, my siblings and I share a room and as we got older it was me and my sister and there wasn’t much room to breathe (if you know what I mean – ladies fight a lot and my sis was not just any girl). Anyways, I have always carried the weight of my family on my shoulders, whether they knew or not. I always think about them and I think about them in any decision I make that I was not going anywhere in life...

Why I Skipped Writing for Three Weeks

Just as this year has been a rollercoaster for me, well September was the most depressing. Okay, like you all know, I am unemployed (gosh, I really need to stop saying that, I sound like a broken record), for those of you who don’t know why, you should check HERE . Anyways, September was the most depressing because my rent was due on Oct 4 and it was the time for me to come to terms with my situation or do something about it; get the money before the due date or just move out. So here’s why I could not write at that time;

Why I am currently single?

Well I have been single for quite a while, like my last actual relationship was in 2011. The rest have just been flings (without sex I know right? How does that work?) –can you call it that though? Anyways relationships as most people say are ‘complicated’ and it just takes one to meet the right one (is there really a right one – well the one meant for you) for things to just work out. My first relationship was in the university and it was educative, heartbreaking, interesting, you know…a lot.

Is This My Life Now? What I’m I Going To Do?

Today is kind of weird for me…Well, not really weird, just emotionally draining. I’m sure most of you have experienced something like this; where tears just start falling down your eyes even when you don’t know no the reason why.

What it Feels Like to Be Broke and Unemployed

I’m not from a rich family or usually have money whenever I want; I’m just a very content person. Sometimes I have money, sometimes I don’t; when I do, I make the most of it (well not all the time; I remember when I was in primary school and my dad’s friend gave my siblings and I fifty naira –back when Nigerian money had value, and I lavished it on candy. My dad whooped my ass that day and I don’t think I lavished money like that anymore. Other time was in the university; the truth is we never had pocket money growing up, my “pocket money” was whatever was left from my school bills – my dad gave money sometimes though.

Sometimes It’s Okay To Be Jobless

Or as some would say out of work…Really it’s okay and I am not writing this cause i was unemployed and currently unemployed, I’m writing this cause I am unemployed and it’s my second time. Being jobless is not an easy task or experience but at some point in life, we fall, we rise…it’s a roller coaster. So it’s safe to say I’m clearly in the fall, waiting and hoping for the rise. You know, being jobless not once but twice is not a beautiful experience; you are tired, worn out, confused, scared, unmotivated and just want to give up. But to be able to be successful, you have to be resilient, determined, take life by the throat or it ‘life’ would take your throat!!!
